Jesuits Trail 7 day tour.

You will arrive a day before into the international airport in Loreto. We will meet in the hotel at night to talk about the trip.

  • Distance from the airport to the hotel is 15km.
  • The cost for a shared cab is approx. $26 USD.
  • Accommodations: 4 star hotel

Day 1

Transfer to Playa el Quemado (near Puerto Escondido), launch and paddle to Punta
Coyote as a shakedown (1 mile). Cross 2.5 miles to Isla Danzante for lunch.
Enjoy a short hike to an overlook. Paddle 3-4 miles to the beach where
you’ll spend 2 nights, and set up camp.

  • Transfer in the morning: 20 minutes.

Day 2

Walk the beaches, snorkel, explore by kayak. Hike the lush arroyo to
another overlook for a sweeping view of the islands to the east.

Day 3

Paddle the rest of the Danzante coast and cross back to Punta Coyote to
enjoy a last snorkel and lunch. Take out at 2pm and head back to your hotel
to prepare for the next adventure.

  • Transfer back to your hotel in Loreto: 20 minutes.

Day 4

We will leave early in the morning. Our first ride will take us to the colonial Mission of San Javier after 40km.

  • No transfer for the day.
  • Total biking distance: 40km on paved road.
  • Vehicle supported.
  • Accommodations: Camping by the old Jesuits mission.

Day 5

Today will be the most challenging day because we will bike 45km on a really hard and rocky terrain. We will start biking early in the morning just after our breakfast. The trail will take us through different ranches such as Los Hornos and Las Animas. We will be arriving into the missioners’ town of San Miguel de Comondu.
Here we will spend the night in a camp house in a big dormitory with individual semi beds also we will enjoy a hot water shower, before we get to our traditional barbeque for dinner.

Day 6

We will keep heading west, now for 38km before we arrive to the missioners´ town of La Purisima and then to the foothills of el Cerro el Pilon known also as the 7 color hill where we will camp enjoying the fresh water of the river.

  • Accommodations: Camping

Day 7

Early in the morning after breaking our campsite we will transfer to a quiet fishing village where we will take the boat to watch the grey whales that are around in the calm waters of the channel of Magdalena Bay. Later on we will enjoy a magnificent brunch, cooked by the local fishermen with all the wonder of the ocean. After this breathtaking experience we are ready to get back to the City of Loreto.

  • Transfer after breakfast: 1.5 hours
  • Transfer back to Loreto: 2 hours.
  • Whale watching time: 3 hours.
  • Accommodations: 4 star hotel.
